Bayside Youth Values

Jesus
Jesus, our Saviour and Lord, is for everyone.  We want to encourage youth in the inner west to trust in Jesus as saviour and honour him as Lord. 

We value being evangelical
We love the Bible and listening to the bible.  It is through the bible that God speaks to us. We believe in the divine inspiration of Holy Scripture, as originally given, and it’s supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.  Central to our meetings will be learning the bible, taught in an expository manner at an age appropriate level

Missional
We have a positive face to inner west youths who haven’t grown up in a church context. We want Bayside to be as accessible as possible for all who currently don’t know Jesus, so they can see his wonder, and come to a personal relationship with him. 

Cooperation and unity
We value a kingdom mindset towards ministry and mission. We’re doing this as a partnership of two local churches (Village Church, Annandale and All Souls, Leichhardt) to together see the mission of Jesus flourish among young people in the inner west.

A safe, respectful, fun & engaged community
We’re wanting Bayside to be a supportive and caring community where youth are safe and treated with respect, where there’s stacks of fun, joyful and positive experiences which everyone is involved in, creating a culture that leads to the development of mature young Christians. 

Leadership development & ownership 
We’re wanting to create opportunities where young people have a go leading different aspects of the program, where there’s a culture of being trained in a variety of leadership skills.

Commitment
We value people being committed to each other. We want people to be committed to Bayside Youth so that  young people are well connected and can build meaningful relationships with each other and the Lord Jesus.
